Guess who just discovered the macro mode on her digicam? (Hint: not Catty.)

Before taking macro shots in future:
- remove catty's eye goop
- wash windows
- put on some makeup
- get microdermabrasion
- get brows waxed
- and get some sleep, for pete's sake
UPDATE: For those who asked, the camera is a Canon Powershot A95. It was recommended to me as a good camera for my modest price range by this guy, a relative of Chris'. Also, Scout asked for more information on "Macro" mode. Macro describes the ability to photograph objects from very small distances (as little as 2"), which allows you to photograph very small objects or capture lots of detail. To learn more about macro and how to use it, check out this decent macrophotography tutorial.
Posted by jess at January 8, 2006 12:17 AMHee hee - Chaos gets really annoyed because I'm always messing with his eye goop. "But honey, what if you do something very cute or funny and I have to take a picture for the blog?!"
Posted by: Chris at January 7, 2006 5:34 PMWhat type of camera do you have?
Posted by: Ali at January 7, 2006 7:52 PMHi there: been reading your blog for a few weeks now and have been admiring all the great projects, etc.
I have one question for you- how do you dye your kool aid yarn without having all the colors run when you pick up the yarn to steam it? I have no problem having it look good as long as it is flat, but once I pick it up to transfer it, the colors run.
thanks
LOL at the list of things to do before using the macro again! That Noro stash is nice!
Posted by: chica at January 7, 2006 11:01 PMDermabrasion?? You have BEAUTIFUL skin! And I think freckles are cool. Have them myself when I get a bit of sun!
I'm starting a Lady Eleanor KAL...hope to finish setting it up tomorrow. Since you're already rolling along, I though you might be interested in joining. I'm sure it would be inspirational to the rest of the group! It certainly was to me!
Posted by: jillian at January 8, 2006 1:47 AMIsn't Macro just the most awesome thing?! I love it. And I love the things you took close-ups of! I use it on my FOs, babies, etched glass to sell on ebay, blah blah blah.
I love your Lady Eleanor so much in the Noro that I will be playing with some Noro that I've received to see if a narrower entrelac scarf would look nice. Or if it would just look dumb because it's narrow? We'll see. I only have two skeins (well, really four, but in two different colorways) so I don't have enough to make the big thing you're making. But a scarf? Maybe.
Posted by: Laura at January 8, 2006 1:58 AMThose came out great! although I know what you mean about washing the windows I always crop them out of my yarn pics! I' looking for a new camera with a decent macro - what kind is yours
Posted by: Marie at January 8, 2006 10:01 AMCan you explain for the camera dunces what that means exactly? I love the pictures!
Posted by: Scout at January 8, 2006 10:09 AMAhhhh! Okay that makes total sense. I wonder if my camera has that setting.....

Posted by: Esther at January 8, 2006 12:51 PMI've got that same camera, and almost always use the macro mode for my knitting photos. It definitely make them look so much better and clearer.
