Hey Jessica!
I LOVE your matching autumn leaves for Clapotis - they are really beautiful, as are the blueish-clear beads. My mom was in town this week for my graduation and we got her some yarn for Clapotis - I already have Silky Wool - and we plan on starting it "together" (I guess we'll discuss by phone and email) later this week. I gave her a few of the stitchmarkers I made from those cute enameled hearts, as well as a palm tree one.
About your toesie, I'm afriad I think it's broken. While far from being an expert medical authority, the same thing happened to my mom and her doctor said it was broken. Unfortunately, I think there is no way to bandage or cast a toe, so they just told her to try to avoid putting a lot of weight on it - kind of impossible, right? But I would definitely get it checked out soon.
Hope you feel better soon!
Marcela
I love your stitch markers! they're beautiful!
sorry about your toe! i broke my toe once and it was not fun! hope things go well for you!
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Love the stitch markers--they are gorgeous! I started Clapotis towards the end of last week, hope to get it finished by June. It's knitting up pretty fast.
Sorry to hear abt your toe too, although to me it sounds more like a very bad sprain/minor stress fracture. Hope it heals up for you soon.
Posted by Prim at May 23, 2005 4:48 AMYikes! The toe situation sounds mighty painful. I concur with the others: I hope it heals soon. Oh my goodness, the orchid is lovely! Be careful...soon you'll have orchids everywhere...well, that's what happened to me. :)
Posted by la chica alta at May 23, 2005 11:04 AMso... package on the way. Your wayward secret pal has finally gotten her act together and shipped off the final giftie. Hope you like it... look in the post on Wednesday.
Posted by melissa at May 23, 2005 12:02 PMwell, to save you a doctors visit.... you can set a broken toe yourself. just tape it to the toe near by. ( secure but not too tight.) then just give it some time. there is not much you can do for toes.
Posted by m at May 23, 2005 2:36 PMYep, sounds like a broken toe. No fun, eh? I broke mine by kicking my bed frame. (At the time, I made up a much more dramatic story. You should too.) But as M says, the doc will just give you some tape, tell you to tape it to the next toe, and let it rest a little.
Posted by Megan at May 23, 2005 3:16 PMHey, I really AM a doctor...okay, I just graduated medical school LITERALLY yesterday, but it's true that whether the toe is broken or not, there's not a lot we'd do for it. It's great that you can move it...use ice packs and elevation to reduce swelling and pain, take some ibuprofen if you're painful, and tape it to another toe for support if it's painful. And good luck...It will be fine. Can't wait to see your new sweater!!!
Posted by DrKate at May 23, 2005 7:05 PMa little jm basqiat/stephanie seymour trivia - not sure if you were aware of this or not, but i found it interesting when i saw the show...did you know that stephanie seymour is mrs. peter brant a/k/a stephanie and peter brant foundation, i.e., the people who own about 25% of the basquiats in that show? :)
Posted by jodi at May 24, 2005 11:16 PMyour orchid is lovely, and I envy your awesome stitch markers! Sorry to hear about the toe though!
