If you're not using your yarn double stranded, you'll probably be able to pull off a long sleeved sweater (or at least the short-sleeved) with six balls. I made this using a different yarn, and it took me a little more than five balls of yarn (80 meters/ball).
Posted by cinnamontree at May 13, 2005 2:54 AMGreat. Now I had to go order some from Herrschners. Thanks.
Geez...bad influence you are.
Yarn pusher!!!
How can I resist the pretty ribbon yarn for $1.67/ball? Eeeeeevil! ;)
Posted by julia at May 13, 2005 1:22 PMWhat about cropping the sweater slightly at the bottom and making 3/4 or elbow length sleeves? Sounds like it might be do-able if cinnamontree was able to get through the whole thing with just a little more! Good luck, it's very cute!
Posted by kristiface at May 15, 2005 10:49 AMI started knitting this sweater last summer in the middle of bar exam preparation. I absolutely love the design, and hope to some day go back to it. Unfortunately, my choosen yarn was way to bulky and the resulting fabric made me look a lot on the chunky side. Maybe I'll just have to invest in some of this lovely yarn. I'll be anxious to see yours....
Oh... and this would be fabulous with 3/4 sleeves.
Posted by Libby at May 16, 2005 8:07 AMYou did not just tell me that Napa is on sale for $1.67 at Herrschners, did you? Thank god their shipping is prohibitively expensive. I keep having to remind myself that I have some recycled cashmere in mind for that pattern.
Posted by Nicole at May 16, 2005 11:58 AMEnabler! Enabler! Our want-to-make lists are suspiciously similar, it seems. Herrschner's should give you some kind of kickback for this post, I think...
Posted by Ashley at May 17, 2005 12:25 AMI love this pattern! Love it! Love it and the yarn too!
Posted by Mary at May 20, 2005 5:05 PMit took me a few minutes to figure out that the photo is of a page in a book and not a life size person holding the largest knitting needle i've ever seen in my life. hehe.
