Pattern: Toasty Topper by Alexis Riggs, Knitty - Winter 2007
Yarn: Plymouth Suri Merino (doubled), 2 balls
Needles: US 7 + 8
Recipient: Graham Carter
Notes: None really, except that this is a brilliant little pattern I saw a lot of mothers knitting for their babies. Figuring this was a good way to spot a handknitted gift that would be both special AND useful, I followed suit. Hope it serves little Graham well for one or two Maine winters! (and springs - it's cold in Maine!). I also hope it fits him better than it fits my gracious model, Will Shortz.

Hi, I just love this little topper!! Wiil have to make this for a new baby coming this year! Thanks for the links you provide...so nice! And I found you looking for a pattern in Phildar 416 04-05, pattern 014! Got to have this and it looks like the whole magazine is cool. I don't care that it is in french, I will just work through it! Course I have to find it....There seem to be just no sources that sell it and still have it. And I was told it is out of print. Do you still have yours? Would you be interested in selling just that pattern, I wouldn't think it would infringe on copywrite since it's out of print? Any way would love to hear from you. love your blog....thanks! Cynthia
Posted by: Cynthia at March 3, 2008 8:50 AMlooks great!! i recently threw the peanut's in the washer and dryer and it now fits her much better. i think that the yarn got a little stretched out. either that or head grew in the last two weeks which is entirely probable! little graham will no doubt be very toasty in this one :)
Posted by: gleek at March 3, 2008 9:43 AMVery cute! The red is nice and cheerful. I love your penguin stuffed animal, too.
Posted by: seedless grape at March 3, 2008 11:31 AMToo cute - it's perfect in red! Your little penguin wears it well, but I'm sure it will be even better on a wee Mainer. I may have to knit one for my small neighborling for next year.

Posted by: carrie m at March 3, 2008 9:11 PMCute pattern! I thought your cat was the model in the first photo and spent WAY too long trying to figure out which way he was facing. I think I need another cup of coffee...
