My mama got me a new camera! It was sort of a combined graduation-passing the bar-festivus present, but she still spoiled me severely. It's the latest Canon Rebel Digital SLR, with enough megapixels to print wallpaper, practically. Check out a few pics I took in SF, before I'd even read the manual. The photo above was also taken with it. I'm psyched about learning to use it, and especially about how much I am positive it's going to improve photo quality around f&p.
Nothing more interesting than that to report, I'm afraid. And anyway, shouldn't you be working on your holiday knitting? Back to the knitting factory! Get to work! *
* Joke! Joke! Not intended to guilt anyone, of course. I'm sitting the holidays out this year, and man is it liberating!

Wow - lovely pics!! That is a great camera. Photo quality will definitely improve around f&p, but I thought it was pretty high quality in the first place! Nice gift, mom! Jess, you earned it!
Posted by: lisa at December 8, 2006 9:19 AMOooh - nice mommy. And yes, we should all be punching back into the knitting timeclock instead of reading blogs and thinking up more projects, lol.

I'm still waiting for a DLSR that will meet my expectations and fit all my current lenses - let's just say that right now i am wishing i had bought into canon and not nikon when i bought my main cameras and lenses. Posted by: grumperina at December 8, 2006 12:12 PMYou're a smart, smart girl (she says while glancing guiltily at the 4 gifts currently on the needles) for sitting this one out. You've had a big year--you deserve to knit for yourself only! And your new pics are lovely--congrats on the new camera!

What wonderful photos! Thanks for telling us about your new camera. If it isn't too much bother, would you please give a bit more information about the size lens you are planning on using for fiber and knit close-ups? You take such nice close ups that 'inquiring minds' want to know
