
Dianna and Shelley, two Fig and Plum readers, have started a really fine project I thought you all would want to know about. To reach out to the families of the victims (and of the shooter) of the Amish shooting tragedy, they are making Amish-appropriate, homespun, handknit shawls to send to the mothers, sisters, and grandmothers of those touched by the shootings. Obviously they need a hefty bit of needle- and spindle-power on a short timeline, so they're looking for a ton of volunteers to help. Click here for details of the project and how to participate.

I'll check it out further to see if they can use donations to help out.
