Posted by: Gina at June 6, 2006 10:14 AMI love Sweet William - they last a long, long time.
Posted by: Delica at June 6, 2006 12:00 PMThat is one fantastic picture. I can almost smell their sweetness. Oh dear. Now I just might have to find room to plant a whole patch of them somewhere just so I can have huge bouquets just like that one next year.

Posted by: Katy at Woolly Pomelos at June 9, 2006 2:34 PM A student of my wife named William, who was the tender age of seven, passed away last month. Today, and seemingly out of nowhere, Sweet Williams apeared in our back yard. I assure you that we are by no means blessed with green thumbs, and our yard presently displays its own haphazzard beauty. What is even more amazing is that I pointed the cluser of flowers out to my wife, saying with confidence that I believed them to be Sweet Williams. Her thoughts turned to the child, and the last day she saw him. I admited that I had taken a guess as to the variety of flower, but I simply had to know with certainty. Admitedly, I am colorblind, and by no means, am I in any way shape or form, a flower expert, yet, our mystery floweres are the same variety as are displayed in your beautiful picture. My wife is planning to write and present a poem and a picture of our mystery flowers to the family in the childs honor. Surly Sweet William
offered my wife a gift from his Heavenly Garden in return for the kindness she showered upon him and all of her Speech Class. students.
Those flowers look incredible. Definitely looking for them at the farmer's market this weekend. :)
