A few people have e-mailed asking for Catty updates - I'm happy to report that she came through her surgery just fine and is coming home today - about 30 minutes from now, in fact! More updates very soon.

Thanks once again for all your kind and supportive messages - they were just what we needed :)

Posted by: betzig at April 20, 2006 7:10 PMYay! ::Happy dance for brave Catty::
I wish she would get used to her new physical state and recover quickly!
glad to hear it. I was wondering about her this morning. I always fret when i don't hear something if someone has gone in for surgery. Silly, perhaps, but i just do.

Posted by: cheryl at April 20, 2006 9:16 PMMy first time here. I am glad to hear that Catty came through the surgery in good shape and is probably already home. I had a big black "tripod" cat and he could do anything a 4 legged one could do.Well except for climbing trees, but he ran and jumped and was a great big lover of a cat. He died suddenly one night with no warning. I still miss him and this was years ago. I understand how close one can be to their pets and what they mean to us.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy long future together.
Posted by: emmy at April 20, 2006 9:25 PMI'm so glad to hear she is doing well and back home! She's so lucky to have you for her mom. Keep us updated!!
Posted by: Sarah at April 20, 2006 11:13 PMMy cats are offering to have a leg removed as a sign of unity--something along the lines of "We don't need no stinkin' fourth leg." Ahh, how they love to parody the pop culture classics.
I, however, am a jerk and refuse to pay for it.
Best wishes to Catty.

Posted by: Cara at April 21, 2006 5:10 PMHooray for Catty!
Posted by: Margot at April 21, 2006 9:21 PMI'm very sorry to hear about Catty's illness in the first place. Whether your animal children are ill, get hurt (like breaking a toe when climbing the blinds) or pass away as mine did (very traumatic fashion btw), it's hard to watch and emotionally challenging. I hope Catty gets well soon and gets back to being her normal self! She is gorgeous.
