I started her last night, after coming home to an empty apartment (Chris is away) from a too-late Friday at the office. The yarn is uber soft. There's only 500 yards of it, though, so I'll have to figure out how many increases to axe.

Posted by: Karma at June 18, 2005 12:27 PMhello! i'm a knitting law student in boston who stumbled across your site not too long ago...anyhow, i went ahead and bought my own mystic creations yarn after seeing your original post, and made a clapotis. (you made it seem like such a great idea!) after much ripping, here are the number of repeats I ended up with: section 2, 5 repeats plus 6 rows, section 3, 10 repeats.
love these colors!

Posted by: Jennifa at June 18, 2005 9:03 PMHey- I've just started my Clap too. Check out this link for some tips re sizing and making sure you don't run out of yarn: http://www.almostrandom.com/needlesnhooks/projectnotes/clapotis-notes.html
I think the best tip is to weigh the Clap when you finish the increases (ie, you get to the width you want), and then you know how much yarn you'll need for the decrease section.
Hi Jess...
I got inspired by you back in April and also ordered the MCY sportweight yarn for my second clap but am now getting nervous about it being enough for the whole thing (650 yd) because the difference in gauge between this and the Lornas Laces that is used in the original. What size needles do you plan on using for it? It looks like you started with the DK silk merino first so not sure if you know the answer to my questions yet...any thoughts?
Thanks!
Leslie
Beautiful! I'm loving the yarn!
