Today (*yawns, struggles to prop eyelids open*) was my first day on the job at fancy schmancy law firm job. Attended a looong day of tech training, etc., but met quite a few nice peeps and got settled into the office I share with one other summer associate. Anyhoo, I've been low on posts and knitting because the last few days were crammed with quite a bit of squeezing-in of vacation stuff. The weather was gorgeous for my few days off! Not much knitting to report, but I'm hoping to finish Simply Grape by this weekend. Now time for a bit of decidedly un-fancy-schmancy sleeeeep.
Posted by jess at May 16, 2005 11:29 PMCool, new job! It sounded like you were just going to be lying around knitting all summer! I haven't been doing much knitting lately either-- Have been attending to the most recent Park Slope NY Minute event. I am posting about it soon.
Posted by: Sara at May 17, 2005 1:22 PMSuper news about the job. I used to be a New Yorker but now I'm a Tampan.
I always love coming to your site to read what you are up to and what projects you have in mind to start, in progress, and how your yarn diet is going. I am constantly falling off the wagon with my diet. Can't wait to hear how Simply purple (censors for some reason won't let me post with the word that sounds like...) comes out...I am petite as well and would love to try my hand at Marilyn but in a Simply Denim. I have hourglass on my kneedles now in a cash in a purplish colourway. BTW, I passed along your name at mystical when I placed my order for yarn...maybe you'll get a future coupon or something for the referral.
Quick question (may not be a quick answer)...how did you create your works in progress bars on your sideblog? Maybe get that up and running will let me stay on task.
Best,
Phoebe
Fancy schmancy law firm, eh? I used to work at one of those in Palo Alto, CA. Are you in Litigation? I was in Corporate back in the IPO hey day. Fun times until everyone got so greedy it hurt, literally.
Also, I'm sure you've seen it, but I have to ask if you're acquainted with the infamous Anonymous Lawyer blog (http://anonymouslawyer.blogspot.com/). I have to say, real or fictional, that blog hits me where I lived in those days (except from the lowly first year's perspective, of course).
