since you guys are such super-sleuths...
you are right about the koigu. isn't it cheery? i bought two skeins a while back when i got the wild idea of trying to size-down a pattern by using smaller-gauge yarn. no patience for that kind of thing, you see. but then i saw that james (aka semaphoria) had done some booties from knitting for baby in koigu, though she said the pattern was a pain. i found a different pattern, one from "50 baby bootees to knit" by zoe mellor, altered it a bit, substituted the koigu, and gave it a whirl.
