A Digital Camera Under $300: Recommendations?

So my need for a digital camera is reaching a fever pitch, but I don't have the time to comparison shop. Anyone have any good camera recommendations for under $300? I'm looking for something with excellent color and sharp focus, even in lower-light situations.

I'm a big fan of this site: http://www.imaging-resource.com/

It came in handy when I bought my camera (Canon A80; the A85 is now out for under $300). There are extensive reviews and you can search by price, megapixels, or purpose. (Click on "Dave's Picks" on the left.)

Good luck!

I have a Cannon A-70 and I love it. I know several people with the A-75 who love those... The A-75 is now around $200 at Target...

I have a canon powershot SD10. It cost me $350-- more than you want to spend probably, but it's 4 mg (which is big enough to print 8 x 10 photos with a lot of clarity) the macro feature is awesome, it records movies (with sound) and the best part is that it fits in your pocket (and that's literal).

I love it. i've had a bunch of cameras before this, but this is the first one that i've carried around with me all the time... as a result i take about 600 pictures a month.

It's one of the best things I've ever bought.

you'll need to get a memory card for it as well-- the big ones (rec'd) are about 30 dollars..

the only complaint I have is that the battery life is average. I wish it would last longer.

hope this helps.

I reccomend the Minolta Dimeage. It's really small, about $300, takes AMAZING photos, uses two kinds of memory, 4.0 megapixels, and there's a hard part that slides over the lens, so it seems to take a pretty decent beating when necessary. If you want to see some of the photos I took with it you can go to http://www.fotolog.net/kristiface And it also takes movies (not incredibly great quality movies, but pretty decent (and with sound))! Good luck with the camera hunt.
