I'm Scared

Is anyone else out there really, really nervous about tomorrow? Restless, agitated, figety... if only I weren't on call in Evidence class tomorrow I'd be off to Ohio just to give myself something to do. I am frightened, and I think it's mostly because I fear not one but both outcomes, each in their own way. I'm scared also that there will be massive voter intimidation tomorrow, which will potentially delegitimize the whole election and potentially throw the last shovelful of dirt on the grave of electoral democracy in this country.

If you don't feel scared enough, be sure to listen to yesterday's This American Life special report on vote fraud. And remember, vote early, vote often, and don't let anyone stand in your way ;-).

Yeah, I'm nervous too, but also excited. I live in a 'battleground' state (Minnesota) and went to vote first thing this morning. The atmosphere was charged and excited but not angry or contentious... it was more an air of "we're all here doing something monumentally important." It helped that I was with a 19-year-old who was voting for the first time, and was getting all of his friends and co-workers to vote too. Later today we're going door-knocking to GET OUT THE VOTE!

Also from MN and also "scared." I actually couldn't sleep last night and had lots of dreams about the election and it's potential outcomes. Wow - for an election to disrupt my sleep is HUGE!! I'll be voting at lunchtime or right after work and will be proud to hand in my ballot - then I will return home to hope for the best.

i'm nervous too. I live in Ohio ( another battleground state!) ...... I am planning to vote as soon as the hub gets home from work. Also planning on waiting in line (with the flu) for quite a awhile! oh well, it certainly is worth it!

Hey, I'm in MN, too. But I feel really optimistic. I've been voting for 20 years, and I have never been so happy to cast my ballot. I had to leave my polling place to go to school, and I was happy about it. So many people are voting. That has to be good!

Like you Jess, I have Evidence tonight. It's from 8:30-10:30 pm, so I'm missing much of the election coverage. I'm mad, but maybe it will be a good distraction. Now, I've got to get back to hearsay.
