New Yarn Shop in Park Slope!
Three cheers - a new yarn shop has just opened in Park Slope! Stitch Therapy, on Lincoln Place between 7th and 8th Aves, carries fine yarns and nifty handknits. Classes begin in October. Since Sew Brooklyn closed and The Knitting Salon moved to Windsor Terrace, we slope knitters have despaired over our yarn-less fate. I'm sure the shop will prove too pricey for me and my student loans, but it's reassuring to know it's there.

I walked by the new shop this evening and I was a little disappointed as it's tiny. They were just closing as I passed so I couldn't check out their yarn - I imagine they had some pretty fancypants stuff. It was definitely a cute and cozy looking place, though!
yes, it really is pretty tiny. they yarn is in general fancy schmancy, but the thing that's really nice is that they carry all the needles and notions you might find you need but don't have in the middle of the project. if you go there, let me know what you think!
I'll certainly check it out soon. I'm new to the area and am on the prowl for yarn shops. Any suggestions?
nah, that's just the thing. park slope is devoid of them. there is one place on atlantic avenue in cobble hill called knitting hands that is kind of nice, and there's another place called The Knitting Salon, which used to be in PS but moved to Windsor Terrace somewhere if that's your neck of the woods.
If you ever go to Manhattan, my two favorite sources are School Products (www.schoolproducts.com), which is near FIT and has very nice yarns at very affordable (often deeply discounted) prices, and Purl Soho (www.purlsoho.com), which is pricier but great for high-end yarns
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check 'em out.
