Catnip Wonton

In a few moments, Catty will probably have destroyed the cute little catnip wonton I made her from Knitty this afternoon. No matter - it was fun to make and she's high as a kite, or whatever catnip does to cats (picture swirling cartoon spirals over Catty's eyes, you get the idea). I used the fresh catnip I grow in windowsill pots, pictured above. Let's hope it doesn't start a cat drug war when Moses decides she wants some.

Awh, I love seeing kitties play with catnip. Did you knit the wonton?

yup - i knitted the wonton. it took about, eh, 1/2 an hour.

the thing i find with my cats and catnip is that once they play with a catnip toy once, they don't play with it much again. if you give them something new with catnip, they'll play with that, but each toy seems attractive for a very short time. it's a mystery.

I knitted the wonton for my Maine coon cat, and I swear, it's his favorite toy ever. He usually gets bored with catnip toys, but I've found squishing it around occasionally to release the oils (and if that eventually fails, I'll spray it with concentrated catnip spray!) gets him interested again.
