Half-Arsed Quilt Restoration Pt. 1

Longtime readers may recall the $10 vintage quilt I snagged on ebay last year. After months sitting politely folded in our hallway, it has been subjected to its first stage of restoration: a bath. Unable to find any dry cleaner willing to touch the thing for less than $100, I hand washed it in the bathtub to eliminate the musty smell. Above you see it drying in our front room, which ought to take a few days. It seems to have survived.

Next phase: repairs. Some spots just need sewing up. A few squares need to be replaced. I've never tried sewing one of these pinwheel babies, but I'm going to give it a whirl, hopefully soon.
