Ideas for Sea Glass?

Sea glass is so purdy. We collected the slew of it above on Vieques. I've seen it used for jewelry and mosaics. Does anyone have any new or unorthodox ideas for what to do with it?

Humm.
Table top. Use a box/tray with the prices strewn about (or in some kind of design), with a glass top protecting the layout. Not cemented in place though (maybe poured sand to act as grout), so the design can be changed, or the stones used for something else later on.
A funky candle. (hold them against the sides of a form somehow like with the candles that have pressed flowers around the sides of the candles)
As colourful stones in table top zen gardens.
While thinking of gardens: how about using them for a little stone path in a garden, leading to little house (perhaps a gnome, fairy, or other small mythical creature's home). You could get really creative here and have the little house have it's own little garden (dollhouse suppliers have pint sized garden furniture and such).
Floor of a fish tank, instead of those little painted pebble things.

Maybe fill a vase with pieces of glass and put christmas lites in there. That would make a nice glowy vase of colors. lol my brain hasn't started working this morning.

Your pictures are beautiful. I would put the larger pieces in individual small shadow boxes with a small label of when and where you picked it up. Beautiful piece of art and reminder of good times.

thanks - these are all great ideas! i like the shadow box suggestion - i was at a loss for what to do with the larger pieces.

Maybe you could drill teeny holes in the glass and make a chandelier? It would look fantastic.

oooh! a chandelier!

Originally I was going to suggest the shadow box idea.

On friday I went to a exhibition launch for found object collages. The artist had collected all the contents for the pieces from his local beach.

There was lots of driftwood, a couple of plastic pieces (arranged by colour - surprisingly beautiful), polystyrenefoam collections and a selection of abandoned thongs (flip flops).

is there any possible way i could buy a piece of the tealblue glass from you? I bought a bracelet at an art fest in california last summer and I dropped it (on the carpet) and 1 of the pieces of sea glass broke. I am devistated because that was the first time i was going to wear it. I see a piece in the photo you posted that would probably work.
I hope i am not being too obnoxious. I'd gladly trade you some yarn in exchange (maybe some cotton classic for that crocheted I-pod case, a crochet hook and a copy of my intro to crochet book?) *batting eyelashes*
thanks, Stella
