MagKnits, a new knitting mag on the block, has a few extremely cute patterns! I'm thinking about starting a Paris Loop or these extra-cute felted poppy pins, which could provide an affordable substitute for those lovely, pricey leather flowers by red head amy. [Link via Not Martha]

Here's that flower link:

Someone suggested the MagKnits site to me in my weblog comments after I requested a pattern for a mini-poncho. I started the Paris Loop Poncho later that day and have sinced finished it, but I must have made a mistake somewhere along the way! Despite the fact that I used the proper needles and a finer yarn than what was suggested in the pattern, I ended up with a huge poncho with a gaping neck hole. If you end up making a Paris Loop Poncho and have success, please pass along any advice!
Posted by: karissa at March 11, 2004 3:02 PM:( argh, there's nothing more frustrating than a gape-y poncho. that stinks. i'll let you know how it turns out if i tackle it, although bumbling knitter that i am probably more than just the neck will be gaping. you should send feedback on the project to MagKnits - i'm sure it would at the very least be useful to them and maybe they can offer some guidance!
